The first ever London Mural Festival successfully took place throughout September 2020.

Laura Citron, CEO of London & Partners “Culture and the arts are synonymous with London and it’s the number one reason that visitors come here. The London Mural Festival is a fantastic innovative addition to our cultural landscape and really puts London in the spotlight as a dynamic and creative city.”

The inaugural London Mural Festival (LMF) took place in September 2020 with over 150 artists from around the world, painting 50 plus large-scale walls across the capital. LMF is about art and bringing art to the people, whilst giving artists a legal way to showcase their work in a public gallery.

The festival showcased work from artists including Camille Walala, Dale Grimshaw, Marija Tiurina, Gary Stranger, Mr. Cenz, Mad C Pref, Zabou and Seb Lester, with a whole host of artists from around the world.

LMF is being run and privately funded by Global Street Art (GSA) and a small number of partners. No UK taxpayer’s money has been used towards any of the murals painted as part of LMF, including those being painted in housing estates, which are entirely self-funded by GSA.

There will be no inclusion of any branding on any of the walls painted during LMF. No newly sourced walls for the festival will be used by GSA in the future for anything other than unbranded pure art. The hope is that the majority of murals will stay for many years to come.
